Air Liquide WA

Air Liquide WA is a joint venture between Wesfarmers Limited (40%) and Air Liquide Australia Ltd, and is part of the Wesfarmers Energy division.

Air Liquide WA was established in 1965 and services the Western Australian and Northern Territory markets with a comprehensive range of industrial, scientific and medical gases.

It has constructed an Air Separation plant, Acetylene plant and Carbon Dioxide liquification plant to service these markets.

In December 2002 Air Liquide WA signed a 15-year supply agreement with HIsmelt Operations (a Rio Tinto subsidiary) to supply up to 880 tonnes per day of oxygen and 800 tonnes per day of nitrogen. The new $45 million air separation unit commenced production in late 2004 within HIsmelt’s pig iron plant in Kwinana, Western Australia.

Air Liquide WA’s Healthcare operations were formed in 1997 in recognition of the unique needs of the medical sector and currently supply over 700 home oxygen patients in Perth alone, on behalf of the Silver Chain Nursing Association. The Healthcare Division is a leading supplier of equipment and diagnostic services associated with sleep-disordered breathing.
